React, also known as React.js, is an open-source JavaScript library for building user interfaces and single-page applications. Developed and maintained by Facebook and a community of individual developers and companies, React has become one of the most popular and widely adopted frontend libraries for web development. It can also be used for mobile app development with the help of frameworks like React Native. Its popularity is due to its efficiency, reusability, and the ability to create interactive and dynamic user interfaces. Many large and well-known websites and applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Airbnb, and Netflix, use React for their frontend development.
